Pandora Plus offers new perks for $5 per month
Pandora is playing catch up with other subscription music services.
The online radio app is updating its $5.00 service, and calling it Pandora Plus.
Paid members get perks such as listening without commercials, unlimited skips and replays, and now it can also play songs offline.
For those that use the free model, you'll be able to Skip more songs and replay tracks if you watch an extra advertisement.
This is Pandora's way of competing with the rise of on-demand music apps like Spotify and Apple Music.
This year Spotify hit 40 million paid subscribers, crushing Pandora and Apple music.
The new features for Pandora are coming out to the US In a month.
And it's expected that Pandora's gonna launch a full on-demand service later this year for $10 a month, just like Spotify and Apple.
The streaming music space is constantly in flux and highly competitive.
There were rumors that Apple was in talks to buy Tidal.
That's the subscription service that's headed by rapper Jay-Z.
But Apple is denying plans to buy TIDAL.
Meanwhile, Apple Music just got a redesign, with a cleaner look, in the updated iTunes version, 12.5.1.
