Oracle OpenWorld: Oracle president talks virtualizationAt Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco Monday, Oracle President Charles Phillips unveils the company's plans for virtualization and discusses the partnerships and software to make it happen.
[ Music ] ^M00:00:04 >> Charles Phillips: So one is called Application Integration architecture. And what that is, is our platform for integrating applications together. Our own applications and third party's. So what we've done is build an open platform on our midware stack. And there we're providing the package integrations between our products from CWOL to Oracle EBS for instance. We are going to show you how we do that and which ones are available. Of course the virtualization is hot in the industry. People they ask me "As Oracle, what are you going to do for virtualization?" Well we are going to tell you about that a little bit more. We are introducing Oracle VM and we'll show you a little demonstration of that later on. So Oracle VM essentially is our version of virtualization with the context with the management tools we provide around that and we have Linux management combined so we give you a single environment for managing virtualization and Linux, the operating system and so our completeness from operating system virtualization data based on that, we are going to demonstrate that a little later on. So we have an answer to virtualization we'll show you how that works.
