When you're buying home theater gear, it's usually a choice between either features or performance. But what if you could have both? The Onkyo TX-NR575 is a mid level receiver which pairs a wealth of up to date features with excellent movie sound. At $550, it's not without some strong competition, though. Including the excellent Sony STR-DN1080. But what helps make the [UNKNOWN] receiver unique? Firstly multi room music, [UNKNOWN] and Pioneer both over more streaming music systems than any other brands. Play-Fi, Chromecast, AirPlay plus the proprietary Fire Connect. If you wanna setup a multi room system, this receiver is a veritable Swiss army knife But what else does the NR575 bring to the table? Well, it has Dolby Atmos and DTS playback with amplification for seven channels, including two overheads, plus a dedicated Zone 2. It also offers six HDMI inputs which include 4K HDR support. If you're a vinyl enthusiast, it even has a turntable preamp on board. Onkyo has consistently produced excellent home theater receivers and if you like the looks, the NL575 should fulfill your audio needs. It offers clear detailed sound with movie soundtracks and a straightforward setup process. Music also sounds fine, not as good as the Sony competitor, but the wealth of streaming options helps even things out. While the Sony STR-DN1080 is still our choice for the money, the Onkyo TX-NR575 offers a strong alternative.
