Nintendo Wii UAt E3 2011, Brian Tong takes a First Look at the Nintendo Wii U Controller.
Hey, guys. Brian Tong here at E3 2011, and in my hands, I have the new controller that's part of the entire Wii U system. Now, when you look at this right off the bat, this is unlike any controller we've seen. This is a 6.2-inch touchscreen. It has an accelerometer, a gyroscope. You also see there's a camera here on the front so it can offer some augmented reality games here with this but what's so neat about this is some of the games, for example, Shield Pose that we're gonna show you, offers you an additional window into the world so you can move it around and give you different views within the game that you're playing. Another cool example of how this can be used in different ways is with Chase Me where you can kinda see a bird's eye view of a map while other people see a completely different experience with what they're playing. Now, we don't have any price. They're showing a bunch of different Wii U experiences here to kinda showcase the technology and the potential that's available to it, but there is no price. It will be coming out some time in 2012, but there you have it, really a nice feeling, a nice hold, and pretty sleek design. This is the Wii U new controller. There you have it.
