And this is my invention.
I call it the scrub board.
It's a pretty simple concept.
I just removed the tape head from this cassette player, and then reattached all the connections using longer cables, so I'm able to slide the tape head up and down these strips of audio tape.
The main advantage of doing it this way is that when I wanna cut the audio, I don't need to use a cross fader.
All I have to do is just lift the tapehead off the tape.
The ScrubBoard is is kind of a more.
Experimental approach to scratching.
It's meant to be used kind of the same way that turn tables are used.
Turn table as in scratching and all that stuff.
It's meant to be.
Kind of a, something that allows for a different kind of approach.
And it uses, instead of records, it uses moveable tape heads on strips of audio tape.
This one is the first one I built.
I don't use this one anymore.
[LAUGH] sss I didn't use shielded wire to run the tape head back to the tape which turns out that, to really be a problem.
There was, there's a lot of noise in this one.
But this one was the first one.
And it was still really exciting.
The first time I got sound.
You know, in the video, you can see that I made a little two finger rocker which, which I rebuilt here.
I wanted to simulate What a turn-tableist do.
Turn-tableist do something called a crab, which is basically like they use three fingers to bring the volume up and down three times real fast.
And I wanted to try to do something like that
Lots of people, offer suggestions for new ways to build it and stuff.
One idea is that somebody offered that I'm going to go with is an idea I like it.
I just don't have time to build everyone the board by hand.
And I know a lot of people want them.
And it occurred to me that with simple machine made parts is much, much simpler to build.
So that's, that's kind of what I've been focusing on lately and finding a company that can do that.
