I'm Ian Bernstein, founder and head of product and misty robotics.
And this is a product type of Misty II.
Misty is a personal robot designed for developers to be creative around robots.
And build skills.
So that we cam start to figure out how robots can be used in our homes and offices.
In misty, we have four filled microphones on the top.
We have a 3D depth sensor on the front, that's used for mapping.
So she knows where is or she is in your space or she can generate a floor plan or a 3D map of your area.
She has a face, where you can display eyes for her personality but you can display any information you want.
There's capacitive touch.
So, she knows if you're touching on her head or the handle, carrying handle on the back.
Really good speaker system.
Arms, bumpers and sensors.
There's a lot of different skills you can build around that.
Anything that requires seeing, hearing, speaking, locomotion So some examples.
It wakes me up in the morning.
When I get out of bed, follows me around as I'm getting ready, plays music, tells me the weather, tells me what's on my calendar for that day.
It could be an assistance for maybe elderly, my elderly parents.
So and here is a loud noise.
A scream or something.
She could go check it out.
Maybe ask if they're okay.
Yes or no.
Said no then it could send you a picture.
Most of the apps on your phone aren't written by Apple or Google.
It's third party developers that build those apps.
So our goal is to provide just a kick **** robot That its super simple, easy to program, the developers can be creative around.
When we see this going more mass consumer, like when somebody can just say, why do I want a robot?
What does it do?
And then here is like these hundred skill that Misty does.
It's probably one to four years before we get to that point And it is really hard to say.
It is really hard to say how long it will take developers to sought of figure out those key applications for robots.
But that is why we are getting it out now so that people can begin to [UNKNOWN] out and see what is cool and what is not cool.
If you wanna look long term, think 20 years or 30 years out.
Nobody gonna buy cars anymore.
They all gonna be self driving So as a family you're not gonna have a vehicles one of the major purchases in your life.
I think people in the future are gonna switch to robots.
You know a robot that you buy and the robot gonna cook and clean and do your laundry and it's That's gonna be the main purchases of family in the future.
A big vision [UNKNOWN] is to put a robot in every home and office and the robot [UNKNOWN] is the first step towards that
