Microsoft Xbox 360The Xbox 360 will deliver the power of a high-end gaming PC to the living room--and include a tantalizing variety of nongaming features as well.
[ Music ] ^M00:00:02 >> That feature starts right here, right now. >> The Xbox 360, Microsoft's answer to the next generation of gaming devices was unveiled a week before E3 in Los Angeles. And is scheduled to actually hit the market almost six month before its competitors. The Sony Playstation 3 and the unofficially names Nintendo Revolution. Noticeably smaller and sleeker than its predecessor, the 360 boosts an IBM power PC CPU, a removable hard drive, and even changeable skins. It will also have the processing power to deliver true 720P and 1080I wide screen HDTV images for all of its games. Microsoft is also touting the 360's ability to serve as a media center extender, allowing it to stream digital video, audio and photos from a networked PC running Windows XP media center edition. Although some analysts believe that Microsoft bay be over reaching with the Xbox 360's abilities, there is no doubt that the next generation gaming wars have begun. And Microsoft has fired its first shot at Sony and Nintendo.
