>> Once you dip below the $50.00 mark, most headphones aren't going to offer much in the way of good audio quality. Luckily, there are always exceptions to the rules, and the MEElectronics M6 is one such example, costing just $40.00 online. These in-ear buds come in a variety of color options, including black and red, but I'm more partial to the clear model I have here. Looks more professional, no? The earpieces are flat and wide, which means they are meant to rest just inside the outer ear. Getting a proper fit can be a bit of a challenge, though I was able to do so with some tweaking. The lengths of memory wire at each earpiece helps to keep them secure in the ear. This detail, along with the surprisingly thick cable, the shirt clip, the reinforced L-plug, and the array of extras, a case, a cable wrap, and an airplane adaptor, make the M6 seem much more expensive than it actually is. Sound quality is also surprising. The M6 earphones actually sound decent. They certainly offer plenty of low-end oomph, and most music sounds pretty good. Still, there is distortion at times due to the heavy bass leaning, and audio isn't the cleanest or most balanced I've come across. Still, for $40.00, I'm hard pressed to complain all that much. These are a good budget option for anyone looking to replace stock earbuds. I'm Jasmine France for CNET, and this has been a First Look at the MEElectronics M6 earphones.
