Marijuana makeover: Startup aims to make pot deliveries classy
Harvest just happened right now so we have really really good stuff that just came in.
How much weed is in there right now?
My name is Michael Steinmetz and I'm the CEO of Flow Kana.
We are the first farm to table business, we basically bring farm fresh product from master growers in the Emerald Triangle Straight to your home in less than 20 minutes.
All right, Michael.
Why don't you tell us-
So this is the customer care team.
So basically customers order from their app, and then they get to assign it to different drivers that are already on the road.
I see your customers, someone is trying to come out of the closet and say, hey, I am a good father.
Hey, I am a good parent.
Hey, I am a good husband.
Hey, I am a good worker.
And I also smoke cannabis.
Cannabis deserves to be in a little jar with an explanation what it does and where it came from and who made it.
I think going the extra mile in the packaging does make a difference.
I think for so long we have had cannabis crumpled up in little paper baggies or whatever the dealer had is what you got.
Then we went to dispensaries where you had choices and you had offerings But you still had no idea who grew it and you want to know if the cannabis that you're buying comes from a farmer that's supporting a family or if it's coming form a cartel in Mexico.
The way it works is it's basically a mobile web app.
If you're not sure what you like you can take our quiz and get a suggestion, you get euphoric, energetic, uplifted, creative, focused, relaxed Sleepy or if you exactly what you like, you can go straight to our curated menu.
You click on the strain, it'll give a bigger picture of it, a description, you can also add it to your cart.
What's the most popular strain you guys sell?
I think one of the most popular strains would be maybe Island Sweet Skunk I would say.
And we're doing a special dessert section for Thanksgiving so we have this cheesecake.
What other ones that are coming, there's bunch of like-
Right now, the names come from the farmer.
There's a saying in the hill that, if you make it, you get to name it, you know?
We put the farmer first, front and center.
We give you access to their email, to their Facebook, to their Twitter accounts.
We're serving thousands of patients weekly.
We have 60% growth month over month, every month, and I think we have even been expanding geographically.
So, I think the opportunities for us to continue to grow are tremendous.
