Hey, everyone, I'm Molly Wood, and welcome to the CNET Mailbag, the show where we
take your feedback and answer your questions about the stuff we're doing here at CNET.
And first, I want to address an ongoing burning question.
Chris echoes so, so many of you when he says:
Today I got up around 6am to go wait in line at a walmart for a $300 Compaq laptop, I
got it and by far it is the best computer I have ever had...the only problem is that the
cover has the weird Compaq logo on it so I was wondering if there was anyway that I
could get one of those Cnet stickers that you have on your laptop to cover it up.
Dudes? I KNOW. I know you want the stickers, and I totally understand, and I ask about
the stickers nonstop and I never get anywhere! Part of the problem is that we changed
our logo, so we don?t have any of these stickers anymore. And then, whatever schwag
we?re getting with the new logo on it isn?t stickers! I don?t know why! But I walk by the
marketing lady in charge of schwag almost every day, so I?ll keep telling her. Also,
though, I gotta say, they?re not all they?re cracked up to be. Like, I can?t get this one off.
It?s on here forever. It?s not even my computer.
Ok, moving on, Grant writes in from New Zealand to say:
We sit down on the couch every Thursday & Friday in our lunch break to watch CNET
TV on our TV and get pissed off having to get off our arses to walk to the computer to
click the RESUME button. What's the story with this ???. We are not the most energetic
at the best of times & can really do with out this major exercise of having to walk 10 feet
to the computer & back to the couch three times.
Grant ? are you talking about yourself in the third person? Anyway, yeah, that?s based
on advertiser tracking ? basically, they want to know that someone?s actually watching
CNET TV instead of turning it on and walking away. I agree it?s a monster pain in the
buttinsky, but there?s absolutely nothing I can do to get it changed. I?m super sorry. May
I recommend, perhaps, a wireless keyboard? I?m glad you?re watching!

Yep, he?s back, and yes. I noticed. It?s kinda ? my show. I keep an eye on it. But yes,
we heard your complaints and we brought back the mailman, at least for now. Yay!

Actually, that?s how you pronounce it. Well, hardly anyone says that, but it?s the right way.

Brandon had some thoughts on the gender-identification of laptops:
In regard to Emily's email where you said all laptops are Males, I beg to differ. Lets
take my laptop for example. It has the female ends of the usb ports, female HDMI
port, female VGA port, female SD slot, female pci slot, and a female end of a power
connection. I must say that I thought it was a common agreement that laptops, or
computers in general, are female. Also, in spanish computer is spelled computadora,
take note of the A at the end of the word. That means that the object is feminine.
When it comes down to it though, Emily is right, Dan Ackerman is an egocentric
sexist pig (just kidding) and we demand an apology on his next review!
Wow! Brandon! We stand corrected. I WILL demand an apology! Maybe.

Well, Marcus, it?s not OUR Brian Tong, but THAT Brian Tong could probably kick your
