Laptop Buying Guide - Part 1
-Hi, I'm Dan Ackerman and this is CNET's laptop buying guide. We're gonna answer all your laptop questions below, but I'm gonna start you off with my top 3 tips. Number 1, don't buy too much laptop. If you're just surfing the web, sending e-mails, streaming video, maybe messing around on Facebook, you can get away with spending 5 or 600 dollars. You need to spend a thousand dollars or more. Number 2, think about travelling light. If you're carrying you laptop every single day, get something that's a very thin 13-inch like an Ultra Book or smaller. A larger laptop is gonna be a real hustle to log around more than 1 or 2 days per week. Design is key, don't forget it. If you like to look at the laptop, don't worry so much about the performance. So many systems are built in the same components. They're gonna perform just about the same. Make sure, when you go to a store, check out the keyboard and touchpad to make sure it's comfortable and something you won't mind being seen in public using.
