>> Hi, I'm Matthew Maskovciak, Assistant Editor at CNET and this is the JVC DD3 Sophisti Home Theater in a box system. As you can tell this system is all about style. The right and left speakers as well as the center channel have this sleek design, which we think a lot of people are going to prefer to the more boxy conventional design. If you look at the main unit it also has a sleek look. It has glossy black all over it and it's curved on the edges. Now the main unit houses the DVD player. And if you look around back the DVDs can be output via HDMI and there's also an Ethernet jack on the back so that you can stream music and photos if you have an Ethernet cable in your home theater. Now one thing you'll notice about the connections on the back is there are no video inputs, which means it's very difficult to integrate any other components that you have. The remote we were a little bit disappointed with. As you can see there are a lot of small buttons on it so it's not easy to see when you're in a dark home theater or navigate by feel. Also for a lot of the functions you have to pull down this sliding section. For performance we think it was overall, it was pretty good for the size of the speakers. Obviously it's not going to perform as well as a bigger unit but given the fact that you have stellar speakers like this we think that most people will be pretty happy with it. For video upscaling it, obviously it's not as good as a stand alone unit. Videophiles will certainly be disappointed but for the average consumer it offers, you know, pretty good quality. Overall we think it's a pretty strong system for people that are more interested in design. The only thing is we wish it had a couple more features for the price. I'm Matt Maskovciak and this is the JVC DD3 Sophisti.
