James McAvoy promises 'harder' Professor X in 'Dark Phoenix'The "Atomic Blonde" star on the next X-Men movie, Bond villainy and being the bald guy.
I'll do anything, mate. I'll do anything as long as it's going to be an interesting character. I'm having fun playing that character. [MUSIC] I think that when I got offered X-Men, it was just purely based on do I like the character? Do I They like stories I think its going to be a fun movie for people to watch. Is it the kind of movie I would like to watch and am I going to learn something and am I going to have fun playing it? And if that seems to be the case then yeah, I'll do three or four. So far he's been changing every time I've played him, he's a different person every time, He's going to be in this next one as well. I think it's gonna be much harder. Okay, now I know you probably get asked this question a lot but you're a British actor in a spy movie, gonna have to ask you about Bond. Would you consider it? Would you like to be a villain in a Bond movie? I've been asked this so many times. I'd love to be a villain in a Bond movie but I don't think I'm James Bond. I've been asked that a few times. I don't think he's me. Not a super villain or something like that? Or a henchman maybe? A henchman? I don't like to be a henchman. Be the main baddie. Okay. But I don't know about henchman. You'd have to have some kind of gimmick, maybe like an animal that you used to [UNKNOWN] [LAUGH]. An animal? Like, this is my Pokemon, I love him. Very short hair, as well, seems to be a thing in lately, doesn't it? Yeah, it's gonna be again. All right, so. Is that in the contract now, is that? Yeah, pretty much. No, the next two movies I'm doing gonna be shaved head again. So Yeah yeah it seems to be my bread and butter. [INAUDIBLE] Yeah they should have a special category at the Oscars for it. Yeah I know me and Bruce Willis going up against Patrick Steward and Ed Harris. [MUSIC] [BLANK_AUDIO]
