Camouflage your cords and cables
Hiding your cables isn't always an option.
But if you're willing to get a little crafty there's an easy way you can camouflage them.
With just a couple of supplies you can turn any power cord HDMI cable or.
Ethernet cord into what looks like a houseplant.
For this project you'll need some tape or florist tape which you can find at a local craft store.
You'll need artificial vine in the length of the cord that you want to cover.
I'm going to cover this power cord and it's about four feet long so I don't expect this project to take any more than about 15 minutes.
When you're covering this cable, only cover the parts of the cord that are actually exposed.
Because if one end is in a media console, or directly behind your tv, it can create a fire hazard.
It's best to work with the tape in one foot long pieces, so that things don't get all tangled up.
Only part of this cord is exposed, so I'm starting down here.
And just make your way down the cord, wrapping it really tightly.
As you go down, use one hand to wrap and the other hand to really make sure that that stem tape is.
Adhering really well to the cord.
So just keep going all the way down, pressing down with one hand and wrapping with the other.
We're giving this cord a nice green base so that it blends nicely with the artificial vine.
We are done.
That wasn't too hard and that was the hardest part.
Now comes the fun part.
We get to turn this into what looks like a vine.
I'll start it down here and using the same tape adhere the vine.
To the chord.
And keep attaching the vine to the chord about every five or six inches to make sure it really looks like it's a part of the chord.
Alright we're done wrapping the cord and I do have a little bit left over so luckily it's made out of plastic I can just, rip it off, use it for something else.
And now check it out!
Our cord looks a lot more visually appealing then it did before.
So plug it in.
And there you go.
The power cord is now a vine.
Plus if you want to make it look a little fuller and cover that cord even more just double up on the vine.
