Hands-on: Samsung Ativ Tab 3This Windows 8 10-inch tablet comes wrapped in a Galaxy-like design, with a keyboard case.
Hi. I'm Scott Stein. Samsung has announced a whole new line of Windows PCs under the name ATIV and continuing with the Samsung Galaxy Tab tradition, the Samsung ATIV Tab 3 is a Windows 8 tablet coming out in August for $699 that has a lot of the Galaxy line looks in a 10-inch form. Included in the $699 price, you do have this snazzy little keyboard with its own magnetically attaching back and can pull off. It also can pop out of the case. Inside the Tab 3 has specs that are similar to other tablets that are out there. It is an Atom-based full Windows 8 tablet, 10-inch, 1366x768 resolution with 64 gigabytes of onboard storage, but this is only 8 millimeters thin, feels very light at 1.2 pounds and has a very compact glossy comfortable design with a big bright screen. Take a look forward when it comes out. It's got all the specs and ports that you'd expect including USB, HDMI, SD card slot, and all of the rest. As I said, this is becoming a very standardized market. What's differentiating it are really the accessories and the price. This keyboard design and the fact that it looks a little sleeker than the rest could make a difference. Plus their SideSync technology that will allow this to connect to Android phones to type on the keyboard in terms of text messages and also show what you're looking at on your phone on the screen of this Windows device. That's a quick look at the Samsung ATIV Tab 3 here in New York.
