Facebook, Instagram try to take on digital addictionFrom The 3:59 show: It's time for a timeout on social media.
Facebook and Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, unveiled new features today to help people limit their screen time on both apps. There's a dash board that helps you track how much time you spend on either app and alerts to tell you if you've gone. On over your set time limit, is this something that you think you would use? As an adult, No [CHUCKLES] But I think this is more for parents that want to manag their kids. I don't think your right. No, I think that If I put this on myself, I can just turn it off. That's correct. But I think that people do need a light nudge sometimes to say, hey, you've had your face in your phone for way too long. I might be a different just cuz I don't use social media that much on my own anyways. So I don't need an app to tell me not to use it. I just don't use it.
