Essential gets more funding, Intel to put 100 autonomous cars on the roadThe biggest news in tech include Essential's next round of high-profile funding, Instagram's new streaming feature that lets users add a friend and Intel's deployment of 100 self-driving cars.
THis is CNET and here are the stories that matter right now. The creator of Google's Android operating system, Andy Ruben, is getting more high profile investors for his essential phone brand. According to the Wall Street Journal, Amazon and Ten Cent are both adding funds that make up $300 million. We still have yet to see the company's new device, but it will be exclusive to Sprint. Instagram has rolled out a way for live streamers to add another user to the stream, even someone who's currently watching the broadcast. Rest assured, the original user can always take the stream back. Look for the global roll-out of the new feature over the next few months. And finally, Intel plans to deploy 100 level four autonomous cars in the US, Israel, and Europe. Level four is the second highest level for self driving cars, which still allows for human intervention in most scenarios. The goal of the deployment is to further test the cars in real world situations in varying environments.
