And that -- -- -- devices we're talking about that support this feature phones. TVs. Phones. TVs washing machine. What can I really inviting target for it would argue with -- -- So basically thinking that the fridge. It to be fair there -- their new life my card do you do work -- -- -- and I -- with the right thing you can hear that directly with the phone with the app. But I mean -- -- understand what I've played with it when it first came out of little weird. Yes I think it was but I think an integrated solution. In this case it's gonna be better. So let's talk about the real phones for a second here and this is one that we've been part of rumors for a long time since the -- for. So both you and I have the original Droid read -- Motorola -- one read a groundbreaking phone in the Android world. It really propelled Android into the map. Com and now we finally have what I think is a good successor to be resolved right which is the Korean War. And our own Brian Bennett says is the best. -- keyboard -- yet. -- and assuming that uses the -- -- -- to keep your opponent Phil. Looks pretty much like the very reason I would be added -- -- the keyboard right but it's the first. You know Droid. Slider keyboard with four G we. It has you know processors not that much faster than the 33 I guess. And it's still only running Android 2.3. I was saying before -- so I'm -- -- is going to that the lack of ice cream sandwich phones have been into. News to me to be fair AA just came out. -- -- -- Sort of like. Just hit the market on in the first phone weeks ago for a high end and a lot of devices that -- senior assuming there are new to us -- it mean to developers modernize. And have been working with the devices per month at this point though I'm I'm really not surprise -- excuses and document -- well I'm not making excuses and just -- -- surprise. Right okay I guess that's that's true I'm I'm a little surprised but I have high expectations for Android ecosystem. With the -- another phone that -- agree one units which. Now -- -- you're good parent. So of the galaxy nexus my phone of choice com and out of -- frequently for weeks now. And sprint has announced that sort of as part of their LTE. Roll out its -- which -- start so you -- it that I think ten different cities tightly twelve. -- one of the first phones on -- is going to be the galaxy nexus. Which is gonna be. Almost identical to the Verizon one except it. And adulterated. Meaning. People evidently did the Google wallet implementation of cherry picked out -- the red numbers and eventually going to be an excellent and presumably because. -- -- didn't have the through. Contractual. Conflict that Verizon has been developing their own payment system right -- -- payment system. Yet I wonder if this is gonna put any pressure on residents -- today. Yet the Google -- -- on there or at least their own waltzes and I think the biggest problem with the Verizon solution is there is -- so we believe. Did there's a very simple solution called -- your phone and put it on there I mean that that came out. You know literally -- thing indeed at the end of the galaxy next to the market with fuel -- already quit. The -- loaded into its back on the aftermarket -- -- you're really into that sort of thing and I mean there's a solution means is they get anybody really -- usually. No problem that's not really solvable with your -- and void your warranty. It's true for most people are unfortunately. But it and it's good just the idea. You know I love the concept of using need to pay and I'm very disappointed I haven't -- -- -- Sonia. -- -- something about rooting your phone in and downloading new law from some. Server that holds all your credit for information then make -- legal incidentally. -- the -- loads you don't look comes from the Internet with the earth for a and you. If it did not UD from the server just basically rebuilding it back in there. That distorted and extended battery for my iPhone but it didn't change the name wellness kind of like you know you buy a Mini Cooper yes -- -- -- -- to it is -- Philip Cooper and -- programs. You -- put it if the new models different model you don't -- differences aren't. -- or -- concerned parents to get there we'll all -- regulate folks thankfully. Aren't -- to -- Mac so let's talk about we are hosting the best of CES awards -- announced finals this morning and the awards are tomorrow. There are some interesting Android devices to come out of there. Weren't part about a couple of tablets. The first of which is from -- Cuba and at the site X ten. And this has been pretty instinct tablet because it is the according to there are over there Franklin. Yet he added that it's crazy expensive. -- Lula again this is point seven thirteen point seven millimeters thin. -- about a half a millimeter point six millimeters thinner than the extreme former prime. -- -- -- -- -- When you're talking about taking it but it -- you know accolades are actually. But I did it seems like with an air support it is pretty impressive device let me. It's kind of expensive to integrate other Android tablets but -- an iPad not excessively expensive -- night. That's -- believe and I mean you know you're paying for things like -- milk a magnesium alloy test the you know. Really I guess that the build quality the tendency to make a device that -- and not. Felix creaky mass we utility in it is one of the when I thought -- -- -- that it built. 334 to be that -- round. One thing that does them a little bit is it you know they're they're going to magnesium only vector and metal and am I haven't seen. In pictures back but I wonder how they're gonna you know avoid the pitfalls of the -- -- prime. Remember that middle back on that device. Actually cause issues with it Wi-Fi connected to -- To make us money they you know made -- stronger. To put in some little crazy. After -- weeds -- -- partners. -- tailored to the so let's jump to the other end of the tablet spectrum also bested the S finest. Finalists via Asus memo 370 -- So -- previous one was a solid fast tablet. -- really expensive brick and this one is a Quad Core -- ice cream sandwich tablet. For 250 dollars -- when -- heavily subsidized but how many of them. Buy a system that suits. If this seven inch -- -- created the about it now attendance. But still 250 dollars for quite -- tablets and -- all. You know quite poor tablet. -- -- you're talking about the potentially viable laptop like this. And think about that compared to the Kindle. Fire which is 19 you know library in any of subsidence. Of the fact that they've been able to make this sort of on subsidized tablet for 250 -- it. -- us to do everything the Kindle fire can do both a whole lot more. I think it's pretty interest team. Product that could really sort of change the tablet space. Is released on Andrews had -- thing. Applicant from three years it's been looking forward to eat well -- -- -- 39. B two BP has the right there at the top. I think it comes in different configuration McCain instantly access via announced -- debuting at 250. But yet they can add more memory and you can always make things more expensive and of course you can have the requisite. Keyboard dock to be -- to include your laptop -- rated day ever gonna go in the way of the primary. Pilots talk about the Lenovo and there IdeaPad. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- If you me and that's the one that's three Branson is -- is beginning there. It's is that competitor to the. Primaries right. Citizens Lenovo -- ice cream sandwich tablet and that you know can be. A full laptop philandering but its laptop -- -- saying this and the way things are going right now. It's pretty well powered. 1280 -- and a resolution. -- In a dual core but I gigahertz chip. And officers standard bells and whistles. That -- standard now. Well standard I think for high end Android tablets -- standard here. And apparently for low end seven inch tablets made by its use. Standard as well. Yeah well. I -- for that and when I'm being years -- and pristine little bit more. More reasonable. Does that price include the actual stock as well -- very seriously doubt it it I'm pretty sure that the 150 dollar night. That's why and -- then -- -- you like to charge triple digits of the things. You can Giffords did you think these converged. -- devices are gonna take off I mean we can see the crime and you know this. -- they are Xperia to name. The Lenovo. Sort of tablet docking station and take -- -- Motorola -- a year ago didn't really work out very well. Yeah they -- a year ago I but that was. That was -- -- getting slapped on to. Basically -- screen and keyboard well when they came out with the docking station for the Atrix. -- -- you -- -- -- there's a bit of redundancy there. To be thinking you have currently get free -- -- hiding behind another screen. I in this case it's like you've got a tablet I mean to be did the tablet market in -- kind of proven that people. Really loved by cases that have keyboards and so why not make it. A little bit you know more elegance -- -- solution not distracting and into basically trapper keeper with a keyboard built -- but. I'd love to talk about the -- -- department's knowledge -- -- will see what happens here. I did do some other it's -- stuff running Android the first is some Google TV announcements I think we. -- back -- a lot about Google TV last year at the gas and we have some news sprinkled in throughout the year. But Google -- again getting serious about Google TV in this. Science and new partnerships. They have to the Sony partnership -- -- have Logitech devices that amount which. Haven't done that well but now have new deals -- Vizio LG and Samsung. To offer. You know Google TV -- there are various devices from the TVs to -- set top boxes. I'm also deals with marvel -- -- attack to produce -- chipset that can be used and other devices going forward. -- the question is. Will this actually changed the game for Google TV is the sort of manufacturers have or -- -- black in there or is the user demand lacking. Well I think you know TV either. Becoming connected they're they're getting -- the -- TV. -- manufacturers are definitely wanting to make -- -- more than just a dumb display. And having Google TV it is there -- right it's an option to. Here's how was the easiest way to do that let's -- basically take -- -- authority built in slap in there instead of you extend them around it -- developing your own through the interfaith. Free TV and in making your own partnerships and -- think we have ended. Getting contact with -- Netflix and form a partnership barely you already have for the built in both of them there and you know when these manufacturers who are word. And he -- that late. But maybe not early getting into this was connected TV game. They're thinking about doing it I mean of course it's just easier to stimulate -- well let's do this. And it and it I don't know if it's gonna be from when the thing with -- TV. On top of the game -- -- but it definitely. And deliver more relevant to make them more viable contender. As far as like him. Could competing for Google's resources and attention right. -- meant to say that I'm still skeptical. I think that what people want other TVs kind of infuriating experience something very easy to control from their living -- -- their house. And Google TV is gone the route of -- let's put the Internet on your TV and I don't know that that's what people want you know they've introduced apps certificates can simplify everything. But we haven't seen that -- -- -- I don't know I think you beat me by -- you know you warning in -- on the TV. I would be amazed by the accurate. -- -- question is will we see in the -- -- who has signed deals. For Google TV on you know with various manufacturers but. Normally those deals are like we're gonna put that on two of our twenty different models and they're gonna be able miles -- -- buys anyway so. When we start seeing devices from Samsung and LG and Vizio. You know I think if it's that kind of deal and not work out but it can be used on -- big best selling devices. Democrats -- to -- an industry how I would. Hope that that LG interviewed wanna fill all of -- to you and they were just making TV -- Be still wondering. Who -- alleged enemy can't -- put it out anyway hello I would really hope that that's not. And I'm pretty sure that's not there there there way of looking at -- -- But again. Those are often the low cost models -- you'll wanna spin don't bunch are indeed. Money into something that you're not gonna make fun of the you know. Then that -- -- over him you know. So they it would make sense on -- low cost budget TV to go ahead and add something new authority built in not to invest that money into building itself. It's true but. All these companies already have they're connected TV platform. But it is also true that -- it is free for them from -- where I mean why not 100 treatment yet. -- -- Lenovo has taken a different approach to getting Android on their TVs. So they actually are have announced -- TV that actually is -- only be released in China to start with. And this TV is actually running Android not. In -- -- via Google TV that Android itself which is a very different take that we have not seen before what do you make of this does that make any sense. Seemed rather roundabout -- But I don't know it's definitely interesting electricity -- things like this happen. So basically when you turn on the TV you go to the injury or any injury home screen presumably to -- -- -- highly I don't yet -- But you wouldn't be like guys and maybe there'd be elected -- the window -- -- something like that but not my worry is that this would be like every annoying. TV that in hotels now where you turn it on and instead of just doing as little channel and yet -- Welcome Antuan is referenced only being then -- to push forward buttons just to get to the tutor before you can go to your channel. I worry about that but. At a relatively seemed interesting in. It's a little confusing -- considering just finished talking about Google TV I don't like it would be better better suited. Well it could be that they are -- the president talking about where people want the theory and experience they don't want the Internet they don't want a web browser on their TV and maybe. Just stick an -- on there is like -- the -- -- that we can stick on there and you know we just want to build. He TV that is Smart. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- But we don't -- -- Google TV I think it could work and -- also gonna use this to connect to their other devices that are Android tablets and there. Disney's second screen devices. I think ultimately. How old interesting -- how successful this is is gonna depend on what they do with Android they can't just like slap. You know that standard -- home screen with the yet drawer. On the device they're gonna have to heavily -- -- do something like you know period and they actually built a theory that by -- powered car experience. And it doesn't look anything like injury but they just needed an operating system that they -- skin injury just happens to be yet. If if if -- -- similar that when they just wanna build their own experience and easiest way to do that is the start with the Android and increase from the completely different. Maybe they just don't want Google TV. They don't put the Google TV logo on it maybe they don't even want via the Android marketplace they just want the the under lying. You know -- that powering it needed the phone -- powering it. Then then maybe we could be something interesting and. Yeah I mean I think we're gonna watch this one will do little hearts it's only China. But it's actually really great way and one of the best to navigate -- one of the best second screen apps that I policy now.
