DJI's Phantom 3 Advanced drone delivers rock-steady aerial photos and video
Consumer Drone technology might still be in its early stages, but DJI and its Phantom 3 drones show why the company is out in front of the category.
Coming in just below its top of the line Professional model is the Phantom 3 advanced Which is packed with all the same features that make flying breathtakingly simple and safer, but has a full HD camera, instead of the Pro's 4K resolution shooter.
Unless you really want or need the extra resolution, the Advanced camera is pretty great and captures plenty of fine detail from the sky.
And with its improved GPS performance, you can get it to hold just the right position.
For you to get the show you're after.
You can even get it to stay steady indoors using this new set of sensors on the bottom.
There are improvements all areound, actually, from the controller, which gives you better video transmission from the drone, and physical controls for the camera, to the mobile app with its acces to all the settings, and important flight data you need.
And a fast video editor, so you can cut up your clips before sharing.
About the only thing that's not noticeably improved is battery life, which is still around the 20 minute mark.
You can read the full review on cnet.com.
But if you've got $1,000 and wanna start shooting photos and video from new heights, this is the place to start.
And if you can do without the pricier Professional's 4K video, you can always put your savings toward extra batteries.
