>> I'm Nicole Lee, associate editor for cnet.com and this is a First Look at the Casio G'zOne Rock from Verizon Wireless. As you can see here the G'zOne Rock is rugged. It's military-certified to withstand water as you can see here. There's a tough rubber and plastic exterior and all the parts are covered with rubber stoppers to make it water resistant. Also on the back is the battery cover and it has a locking mechanism to keep the battery secure. On the front here is a very simple OLED display that displays the typical date and time information. You can also push to talk calls from the front here. You can also access the music player on the front here. On the back is a 2.0 megapixel camera as well as a flash LED that can also act as a flashlight. Also on the top of the phone there is a one touch button to open the phone. It has a nice two-inch internal display, very nice and colorful and then you get the typical Send and End Power keys as well as a little clear key. The number keypad as you can see here is very roomy and is very easy to dial by feel. Features of the phone include the typical text and multimedia messaging; it also has EVDO [assumed spelling], stereo Bluetooth and GPS with VZ navigator. The Rock also comes with six outdoor specific applications. They include an earth compass, a walking counter or pedometer, there's also a thermometer, an Astro calendar, a sunrise, sunset application as well as a tide application that lets you know the ebb and flow of local tides. All this information is useful especially if you're hiking or fishing. There's also a camera and camcorder and a music player with access to Vcast music or Rhapsody. The Casio G'zOne Rock is available for $150 from Verizon Wireless. I'm Nicole Lee and this has been a First Look at the Casio G'zOne Rock.
