Benicio Del Toro on Sicario 2: Soldado and a Star Wars return
You want to see this thing through?
I'm going to have to get dirty.
Turn and you lose.>> I'll lose.>> No rules this time.>> Adios.>> Well yeah it's a great opportunity for any actor to explore the evolution of a character.
So I looked at it like that.
It's a good opportunity to explore different aspects about the character that you've already played.
You know I've been part of couple of those characters that have shown up in movies and I think that that's something, it's happened more now in movies than before and and I don't have a problem with that.
Not as much.
I kind of like the 2-hour, I have that 2-hour attention span, you know.
I think that when I watch stuff at home, I tend to digress a little bit and get distracted quick but I like that two hour sprint.
I like to see them go, somewhere [LAUGH].
I'd like to see them in another movie.
But, I don't know where, It's up to the writers.
I'm sure I could have ideas, but I'm not going to tell you those ideas.
I'll tell director or the writer if they would like to know, and if not then I'd like to read what they come up with, and I hope they did, but its not
The job in this movie is kidnapped is very different in my opinion.
That does not confuse them, but these movies, you're right, these movies scratch into real things.
That have been happening for four years maybe longer.
The reason why they do this, these movies they exist in this world as filmmaker's and storyteller's barrel, you know.
Take from reality and tell fictionalized stories in this world, and Sicario is just one more of those films.
The reason why they do it is in this world, just like in a western or a gangster movie, you can explore many aspects of the human condition.
redemption, morality, good versus evil, betrayal are all kinds of themes that you can explore and that's why it happens but what's happening right now in the news, which is, like, a coincidence, you know really Has nothing to do with this film except that it's happening on the border.
And this movie has a section where people are using people, or exploiting people, to cross the border.
They're apples and oranges really, I mean they're not the same thing, you know?
