Aquatic drone incoming: a look at ZiphiusAn tablet/phone remote-controlled, camera-equipped, robotic boat with augmented reality games and a beverage holder? Yes, and it's on Kickstarter. A look at Ziphius at CE Week.
Fancy yourself an aquatic drone? I'm Scott Stein here at CE Week with the Ziphius, a water based remote control drone boat that has an HD camera, WiFi range up to 300 feet and can work via tablet or smartphone to control it in the water. You can see the motors right here. It shows in the video that it can actually tug somebody on a little raft and it's got the camera right up here, recharges, has different colored housings and looks generally like something that descended out of a sci-fi sequel to Water World. This is available on Kickstarter currently for $199. It's one of the more interesting concepts that we've seen here and one of the few drones at CE Week. Ziphius also runs augmented reality apps that allow it to play games with accessories like these little balls here in the water that it reads off of the camera. And most importantly, it comes with a drink holder. This is the prototype version. I'm Scott Stein with a quick look at the Ziphius aquatic drone and beverage server.
