Apple iPads, iMac get thinner, boast more features
Apple's iPad got a mini-makeover.
This is the new iPad Air 2.
It's unbelievably gorgeous, and look how thin it is.
At 6.1 millimeters thin, Apple claims the iPad Air 2 is the world's thinnest tablet.
It now features the same built-in fingerprint sensor that is found in iPhones.
And now with touch ID, you'll be able to use Apple Pay to make on-line purchases.
And it works with our store, so you can purchase in the iTunes store, in the App store.
The iPad Air 2 also offers more robust cameras, an anti-reflective coating and will come in three colors, including gold.
Apple has long dominated tablet sales.
But some analysts say its stronghold is slipping.
As consumer interest wanes and competitors like Samsung and Lenovo offer lower priced models.
People are holding on to tablets for much longer than they hold on to their smartphones.
And this is causing them to upgrade much less frequently.
Besides refreshed iPads, Apple also announced an updated screen for the IMAX now boasting a 5 millimeter thin retina 5K display.
It is the world's.
Highest resolution display.
The new iMac with start at $2,499 and will ship immediately, along with the new operating system, number ten, called Yosemite.
