Acer's Swift 7, Chromebook 315 break new ground at both ends of the market for CES 2019
ACES 2019 Acer and that's two different consumer laptops.
The Swift 7 here in my hand is a 14 inch that is incredibly small and incredibly thin for its screen size.
How Acer did that was that it removed a lot of the bezel from around the screen.
Not only on the side, but on the top And bottom that eliminated room for the webcam, but they put it right here in the keyboard, that just pops up.
Yes, it's a nose cam, but it's still better than nothing.
And right next to it you could see they put in a fingerprint reader so you can sign on with Windows Hello.
And it is again, remarkably thin Remarkably light.
It feels almost like it's not real.
It also only has USB-C ports on the side.
But Acer is packaging it with a full dongle so that you can attach it and add other accessories to it while you're working.
Battery life is expected to be ten hours on this Despite the fact that it is so small.
You'll be able to find it in February for about $1700.
Then we have this.
This one is completely at the other end of the price spectrum at $280.
It's Acer's first 15.6 inch chromebook with an AMD processor in it.
Acer was the first with the 15.6 inch chromebook which gives you a lot of extra screen real-estate and a nice big keyboard but it's still lightweight Battery is expected to be about ten hours on the AMD processors and that compares favorably two Intel's solutions.
Chrome Books are already known for their value but adding AMD into this one will allow a search who bring the price down a little more without sacrificing performance.
You'll be able to get the Acer Chromebook 315 in February for, again, around $280.
