2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe removes two doors and not much else
After Mercedes-Benz debuted the S-Class sedan, it introduced the S-Class coupe.
Then came the C-Class sedan and followed by the C-Class coupe.
Its newest sedan is E-Class and I think you know where this is going.
The E-Class coupe technically debuted.
In mid-December, but Detroit marks its first auto show debut.
If you've seen other Mercedes-Benz coupes, it's more of the same story here.
There is an E-class front end and a positively curvaceous rear end with a few small details to set it apart from the other one.
Well, the E-class sedan lineup starts with the E-300, the entry-level E-class coupe is the E-400.
That one packs a 3L turbocharged V6, good for 329 horsepower and 354 pound feet of torque.
It can be had with either rear wheel or all wheel drive and the only transmission on offer is a nine speed automatic.
The E400 coupe comes with a proper compliment of standard equipment.
Adaptive dampers are along for the ride, as is autonomous emergency braking, as is an infotainment screen with standard Apple car play and Android auto.
So there are still plenty of options from which to choose.
For example you can have your dashboard tricked out with the dual wide screen setup from the e class Sedan.
Air suspension is on offer as is the drive pilot suite of semi-autonomous driving system.
The 2018 Mercedes Benz e class Coup goes on sale this summer.
And a convertible variant is all but guaranteed to follow.
