Parking lot pickup

The much-anticipated Nintendo SNES Classic goes on sale today, but it's already selling out at many locations. However, Amazon is coming to the rescue in New York City (and 17 other US cities) with its Treasure Truck. This one set up in a lot on 28th Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue.

Nice view from here.  They opened the truck at noon and within minutes the scene was mobbed.

You purchase your SNES ahead of time through Amazon's app, and then hit the truck to pick it up. When you arrive, you can get your picture taken with Mario.

Amazon's Treasure Truck staff walks down the line, scans your QR code then hands you your pre-bagged SNES.

They seem to have a lot of these to sell, though given the popularity of the last one it does seem inevitable that it will sell out.

Happy shoppers can leave after pickup or stick around and enjoy the spectacle.

Scott Stein snagged one as well.
