Musical edge

Look closely and you can see that the Motorola VE440 has an asymmetrical face. It's as if the right spine has been smeared up toward the screen, leaving an angled ledge outfitted with easy-to-find music playback controls. Read full review

Turn it up

The VE440's volume rocker sits on the left spine, along with a shortcut key and charger port. Unfortunately, hiking up the volume won't do much if the sound quality dives, as it sometimes did in our tests.
