With a rectangular shape, clean lines, and a plastic skin, the Optimus Regard looks very much like other basic Android phones.
You can add up to five apps to the static icon tray at the bottom of the screen. Below that are touch controls for opening the menu, going back, and returning to the home screen.
The display's resolution isn't supersharp, but it's what you'd expect from a phone at this price.
The compact Optimus Regard fits easily into a pocket. That makes it very portable.
Yet, the Optimus Regard's small size also means that the 3.5-inch display can feel rather cramped.
Fortunately, though, the handset has a solid, weighty feel. I wouldn't throw it across the room, but it should survive a few blows.
The Optimus Regard's battery cover has a slight textured pattern. Up top are the camera lens and flash.
