Sansa in the snow

Warning: Possible "Game of Thrones" spoilers from the new trailer ahead.

Summer's just begun, yet winter is coming. On Wednesday, HBO released a new trailer for "Game of Thrones," and the preview revealed plenty of new goodies from the upcoming season. Near the end of the sneak peek, Sansa Stark quotes her late father Ned, with actress Sophie Turner's voice heard saying, "When the snows fall, when the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives." Chew on the meaning of that, "Thrones" fans.

King in the North

Jon Snow looks pretty cold considering the trailer was released on the first day of summer.

Crowd control

The red banners with the Lannister sigil of a fighting lion are still hanging at King's Landing, but possibly not for long.

Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown

Cersei is still queen, but her seat on the Iron Throne looks unstable at best. By the way, the trailer is set to "Light of the Seven," the haunting song that played during her destruction of the Great Sept of Baelor.

Hand of the queen

This appears to be Daenerys, trailing her hand along the "Painted Table" from book two of the series, "A Clash of Kings." If so, this would put her at Dragonstone.

Arya rides

A girl is no one? Not if Arya Stark has anything to say about it.

Hide and peek

If anyone's creepily hiding up against a wall in "Game of Thrones," 10 to 1 it's Littlefinger.

On the beach

How Dany can stride the beach at Dragonstone in those high-heeled boots is anyone's guess, but she manages.

Bring down the banners

In one part of the trailer, Dany yanks down a banner that looks to carry the fiery heart sigil of House Baratheon.

Dragons in flight

Not sure what kind of Dragon Chow Dany is feeding Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion, but they suddenly seem huge. Naturally, they're flying toward Dragonstone.

Hand of the queen

If this trailer had one flaw, it really could've used more Tyrion. Here he is, looking vexed.

Armored and ready

Grey Worm, commander of the Unsullied, prepares for battle.

Pod and Brienne

An earlier snippet of film revealed in Spain showed Brienne of Tarth sparring with Podrick Payne. Let's hope she taught him well.

Doggone it

Despite all odds, the Hound just keeps on barking. Who's ready for a battle of the brothers Clegane?

Ready ... aim ...

Archers take aim as Jaime Lannister and Bronn ride behind them.

Eyes have it

Like we said, Bran, is that you?

Night King

The Night King of the White Walkers is chilling. Some fans were disappointed that he appears to still be played by stunt performer Vladimir Furdik rather than actor Richard Brake, who portrayed him in two episodes.

Wheels up

Bran's wheelchair has to be one of the biggest reveals of the trailer. Could he be in the Godswood of Winterfell, at the Weirwood Heart Tree? And is that Maester Wolkan with him?

Flame on

Maybe the best single shot of the trailer: Beric Dondarrion and his flaming sword.

Release the kraken

The kraken sigil of House Greyjoy is visible as ships sail into what may be Blackwater Bay. Hey, Pilou Asbaek, who plays Euron Greyjoy, has already said this is going to be his season.

Unsullied prepare for battle

The elite Unsullied troops display their military discipline.

Hodor! Er, open the door!

What appears to be a group of Unsullied troops pull open a door to let the rest of the troops inside.

Charge!

Big Red

You always want Tormund Giantsbane on your side in a fight.

Look, up in the sky

What's scarier than a a Dothraki horde armed with arakhs charging at you? A Dothraki horder armed with arakhs and led by Daenerys' dragons, with her riding one of them (likely Drogon).

Brave as lions

The Lannister men won't give up without a fight.

Cold? Who's cold?

When you're raised with the name Jon Snow, you're bound to become King in the North. Is that Beric Dondarrion and his flaming sword at Jon's side?

Tender moment

Grey Worm and Missandei share a tender moment. He may be a eunuch, but that doesn't mean he doesn't long for romance. Also, could this be a farewell kiss?

Fight with the wights

Looks like Jon Snow is taking on another White Walker one-on-one. Hope that sword is Longclaw, which is made of Valyrian steel, one of the few known substances that can kill White Walkers.

Looking ahead

Jon Snow and Davos Seaworth contemplate their situation.

Flaming battle

It's already been revealed that this season sets a record for flaming stunt performers, and here's further proof.

All fired up

A horseman with what appears to be a Dothraki arakh rides out of the flames.

Dragon face

If you think this closeup dragon shot (with Daenerys along for the ride) is terrifying...

Toothy

...check out this even-closer-in closeup. It's possible the dragon could use the services of a good orthodontist.

Lone wolf

As Sansa recites Ned's quote about "the lone wolf des," the trailer shows Jon Snow striking down an opponent, then standing firm. Foreshadowing much?
