After installing Foursquare you'll need to set up an account using your Facebook information or your e-mail address.
The Android and iOS version of the app offer the same activity feed. You're able to view check-ins of your local friends, and those who are located elsewhere in the Worldwide feed.
A list of nearby venues is only a tap away from the main screen. When viewing this list you can check in by tapping on a venue name, or learn more about the venue by tapping on the arrow.
Leave a tip with a photo to illustrate what it is you're referring to. Or save a tip to your to-do list for future reference.
Explore looks and works the same on iOS and Android. You can either search for a certain category, or select one of the predefined searches below the search bar.
The iOS app, redesigned for iOS 7, offers an updated look across the board. This is the same menu screen shown on the previous slide, but on an iOS device.
On your profile page you're able to view tips you've left, your friends, check-in history, photos, and other stats.
Sometimes you're prompted to leave a tip at the venue you last checked in to. Or you can quickly check in at the venue you're currently at by tapping on the prefilled venue Foursquare believes you're at.
After you check in to a venue you may notice questions like this show up. Answering them takes a tap and helps improve Explore.
