The Pantelligent is a $199 die-cast aluminum nonstick pan that connects to an app via Bluetooth that guides you through cooking. The pan is covered with a nonstick coating.
A sensor built into the Pantelligent measures the surface temperature of the pan and the food inside.
Bluetooth technology located in the Pantelligent's handle communicates temperature readings to the connected app.
The Pantelligent's app is available for iOS and Android devices. After the app connects to the pan, the app will talk you step-by-step through recipes.
One of the recipes in the Pantelligent's app is for a boneless ribeye steak.
The Pantelligent app will tell you when to increase or decrease the burner's heat to keep a steady temperature.
Though the steak was slightly overcooked (I selected "medium" for my preferred doneness), the taste and sear was impeccable.
The Pantelligent is available for order online, but it's currently on back-order until February 2016.
