The next versions of Apple's iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are still months away, but there are plenty of concept designs bubbling up. Sample some of the images dreamed up by designers and keep track of all the important iPhone 2018 rumors here.
Since 2012, Apple has consistently released new iPhones in early September, and this year should be no different.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the company will release three models in 2018, as shown in this render from Everything Apple Pro.
According to the Economic Daily News, one of the 2018 iPhone models could have three rear cameras, similar to Huawei's new P20 Pro.
According to Forbes, the highest-end iPhone X Plus model might get a triple-lens array, as opposed to a dual-camera solution.
The 2018 iPhones could be called the iPhone 11, iPhone X Plus, or the iPhone X2, but we'll probably never see an "iPhone 9."
According to Bloomberg, Apple is developing a 6.5-inch OLED iPhone — the iPhone X "Plus" — which would be the biggest iPhone ever.
Various rumors agree that there will be least one lower-cost iPhone with a 6.1-inch LCD screen in the 2018 lineup.
Because of the cheaper price tag, the LCD iPhone is expected to sell faster. So, The Wall Street Journal thinks Apple will likely produce more of them.
Though an LCD iPhone would cost less, it could still hold some premium features. This might include a nearly bezel-less display, as seen in this render from iDrop News.
Some rumors point to a 2018 release of the long-awaited update to the iPhone SE. This render by Zone of Tech shows the possible design for an iPhone SE 2.
Case maker Olixar produced a prototype case for the "iPhone SE 2018" ...
... alongside a screen protector that shows the phone to have thin bezels and a notch like the iPhone X.
Ming-Chi Kuo thinks Apple will apply facial recognition across the 2018 lineup, completely omitting the need for Touch ID.
Kuo also predicts that the 2018 iPhone X and iPhone X Plus will come in gold, black and white...
... and that the 6.1-inch iPhone, to replace the iPhone 8, will come in gray, white blue, red and -- most surprisingly -- orange.
Other rumors go a little further with the new colors, adding pink and yellow to the list.
This new variation of colors would mimic the lower-end iPhone 5C series, which is known for having a rainbow of color choices.
In terms of pricing, there are rumors on both sides of the spectrum.
Investment analysts at UBS say that the flagship iPhone for 2018 will be $1,100 — $100 above the cost of the current iPhone X.
Meanwhile, analyst Kuo predicts that Apple could launch a single-SIM version that costs between $550 and $650 and a dual-SIM model, priced between $650 and $750.
Looking past 2018, Bloomberg projects that Apple will remove the Lightning port from the iPhone X, possibly in favor of USB-C. But the port probably won't be removed this year.
