XM Satellite Radio has signed a deal with the New York Times Company to feature audio programs generated by the publishing company. The media conglomerate, which owns The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune and The Boston Globe newspapers, also has several television and radio stations.
Under the agreement, XM will broadcast on several of its channels information and music content produced by NYT Radio, including its hourly news broadcasts. Select XM channels also will feature expert commentaries, reviews and reports from Times staffers. And one of XM's classical music channels will feature the music series "Reflections from the Keyboard," broadcast on NYT Radio's classical music station, WQXR.
