Anyone who's ever grabbed a plastic bottle filled with Coke and added Mentos candy knows they're in for a satisfying experiment. Think of an explosion safe enough for your backyard but not scary enough to make you an honorary MythBuster. Thankfully, mixing Coke with Mentos doesn't mean you'll be meeting the Grim Reaper anytime soon.
But what if you fill a swimming pool with Coke and Mentos, then go for a dip? YouTuber TechRax filled an above-ground swimming pool with 1,500 gallons (5,678 liters) of Coke, plus Mentos and ice. Then added a live human subject named Ryan, who excitedly jumped into the pool and yelled, "I'm in a pool of Coke, man!"
To be honest, the pool wasn't only filled with Coke. "Yes, some Pepsi was used in the making of this video," TechRax posted on YouTube. "Roughly 7 percent of total pool capacity."
If that wasn't thrilling enough, TechRax also crash-landed a brand new DJI Phantom 4 quadcopter into the pool. It's so sad to hear the sounds of the drone drowning.
You can watch the video "Taking a bath in a giant 1,500 gallon Coca-Cola swimming pool" on YouTube, where TechRax posted it on June 24. The video has already gone viral, with more than 22 million views.
