Veteran bolsters VA Software's board

Computing industry veteran Andre Boisvert has joined the board of VA Software, the former Linux seller that now focuses on selling its collaborative programming software. In recent months, executives from PeopleSoft and Legato also have joined VA's board. Boisvert is a limited partner for two venture capital funds. He most recently was president and chief operating officer of SAS Institute, a privately held software company with more than $1 billion in revenue, VA said. He also spent 13 years in sales and marketing at IBM and was senior vice president of Oracle.
