U.K. agency revises EDS contract

United Kingdom's Department for Work and Pensions has boosted its IT services contract with Electronic Data Systems.

The United Kingdom's Department for Work and Pensions has boosted its IT services contract with Electronic Data Systems, the company said Wednesday. EDS will now get about $4.7 billion over the five-year period of the deal, subject to performance. This is $1.4 billion higher than previous estimates, EDS said. In addition, EDS could win further awards worth $324 million over the life of the deal.

The works and pension department serves 20 million customer accounts and makes 13 million payments weekly.
