Three-deal Tuesday: A tablet, a laptop lock, and a free episode of 'Game of Thrones'

Even if you're not in the market for a new tablet, you can't pass up a five-dollar laptop lock! Can you?

I realize "three-deal Tuesday" isn't nearly as alliteratively pleasing as "tablet Tuesday," but when you've got three deals to share, well, alliteration be damned! That's right, I said it. (Good lord, I think I have a problem. I may need Alliteration Anonymous.)

Anyway, let's get down to business...

1. Tablet Tuesday.
Today only, and while supplies last, Woot has the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch Android tablet for $169.99, plus $5 for shipping. It's new, not refurbished, and it comes with a bunch of extras.

Specifically, an accessory kit that includes an 8GB microSD card (thus doubling your available storage), a set of earbuds, an audio splitter, and a microfiber cleaning cloth. That's a combined value of $20, according to Woot, and if it's stuff you can use, great.

It's worth noting that the same model was selling for about $40 less just a couple weeks ago, but it was refurbished and sold out very quickly. If you prefer your tablets new, with a full warranty, this might be the better buy. Incidentally, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 "offers an excellent value and a full Android 4.0 experience that no other tablet can currently match for the price," according to CNET's review.

Also, Woot is selling the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1-inch model (with the same accessory kit) for $279.99 -- hardly the best deal I've seen, but I thought it worth mentioning.

2. Lock down your laptop.
You probably know you should theft-protect your laptop when you're working at a coffee shop, living in a dorm, and so on. But maybe you balked at the idea of spending $30-40 for a laptop lock.

Balk no more. While supplies last, DealFisher has the Kensington ComboSaver Combination Portable Lock for $4.99 shipped. (Frankly, this thing probably costs that much to ship, so it's almost like getting it for free.)

Update: Alas, it's already sold out. Apparently this deal went live (and viral) last night, so supplies were all but gone by this morning. Sorry, folks!

The ComboSaver plugs into your laptop's lock port (it has one, trust me), then secures to a table leg or something else via its coiled cable. It relies on a four-wheel numeric combination, and lets you recover forgotten codes via online registration. And it sells elsewhere for $20-30. So for five bucks? Are you kidding me?

3. Try a free episode of "Game of Thrones."
Unless you've been living off-planet, you probably heard that the third season of HBO's "Game of Thrones" debuted Sunday. If you've been wondering what all the fuss is about, now's your chance to find out: For a limited time, Amazon is offering "Game of Thrones," Season 1, Episode 1, free of charge. You'll need an Amazon account, of course, which requires a credit card, but there's no charge for the purchase.

This is an outright freebie, not a rental. Once you own the episode, you can watch it on your PC, Kindle, Roku box, iPad, or any other device that supports Amazon video streaming. And you can choose between the SD and HD versions (get the latter, natch). Regular price: $2.99 and $3.99, respectively.

I will say it took me a couple episodes to really get into the show, if only because there are so many characters and locations to follow. But I suspect that by the time you get to the end of Episode 1, you'll be hooked. If not, well, no harm done -- only money saved.
