The problem with Truste

A News.com reader says: This article reminded me again why Truste has so little credibility with privacy advocates.

In response to the June 25 Perspectives column by Fran Maier, "Hitting spam below the belt":

This article reminded me again why Truste has so little credibility with privacy advocates and the anti-spam community. Their "e-mail seal program" (supported by DoubleClick, whose business model relies on privacy violations) is nothing more than a fancy way of tagging "ADV:" on the spam subject line in such a way that Truste gets a cut of the spam revenue.
