Logitech Create keyboard case turns your 9.7-inch iPad Pro into a portable workhorse

The accessory uses the iPad Pro's Smart Connector to automatically pair with the tablet when you snap it in place.

Logitech made a smaller version of its Create Keyboard case for the 9.7-inch Apple iPad Pro.

Logitech was the first third-party manufacturer to come out with a keyboard case for the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro last year, and now owners of the 9.7-inch tablet can join the fun too.

Unlike Bluetooth keyboards, the Logitech Create keyboard case uses the Apple Smart Connector that automatically powers on and pairs with the iPad Pro when you snap it into place.

The Smart Connector also draws power from the iPad and uses it to illuminate the backlit keys, so you can still work in low-light.

How does it compare to Apple's Smart Keyboard case? Logitech's version has a row of shortcut keys on top for quick access to adjust brightness, control media, open a web browser or bring you back to the home screen. That definitely saves time and I'm not sure why the Apple version doesn't have it.

The Create is also a little cheaper than the Apple Smart Keyboard, so that might tip the scales for prospective buyers too.

The Logitech Create Keyboard case for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is available now for $129.99 in the US, which works out to about £100 or AU$175.
