Teac announces faster new CD-RW drive

Electronics maker Teac announced on Tuesday a new drive that can read and write data to CD discs faster than previous models. The internal 40x12x48 CD-RW drive can write data onto CD-R media at 40x speeds, rewrite to CD-RW media at 12x speeds and can playback CD-ROM discs at 48x speeds. The drive is available now and costs around $180. The 40x12x48 CD-RW drive will replace the $130 40x10x24 drive.
