Symbian receives extra funding

Symbian, which makes operating systems for wireless devices, said Tuesday that it has received additional funding from its backers Matsushita, Motorola, Nokia and Psion. Sony Ericsson has replaced Ericsson as a new investor. Symbian said it will receive $29.32 million in additional funding to take the company through the next phase of its development.
