PHOENIX--If you're the kind of gadget junkie who can't go anywhere (including your car) without your full complement of MP3, satellite radio and CD players, cell phone and more, MP3Car.com may have your back.
At the Demo '06 conference here, the company unveiled its Streetdeck automotive enabler box. Essentially, it's a one-stop shop for integrating all those devices while you drive, regardless of the kind of connection they require: USB, Bluetooth or others.
Further, the Streetdeck, which can be installed anywhere in a car, be it the trunk or behind a seat, interoperates with a touchscreen user interface built around the idea of simple finger gestures that a driver can do without having to look away too long from the road. Thus, users can access their cell phone address book from the touchscreen, or their MP3 library, all at the touch of a finger.
MP3Car.com also announced its new relationship with Intel, signifying the chipmaker's participation in the Streetdeck.
