Get hyped. According to the official Star Wars Twitter account, "Episode VIII" has finished shooting. The announcement came via a tweet that shows a short clip of the final slate clapping together for the final shot. And director Rian Johnson proclaims, "Cannot wait to share it with you all!"
"Episode VIII" is currently scheduled for a December 15, 2017, release, so try to temper your expectations. With the shoot now over, post-production work begins and that takes time.
Fortunately, Star Wars fans won't have to wait too much longer for another installment in the saga, with "Rogue One" set for release this December. "Rogue One" will reveal just how resistance fighters got their hands on the plans for the Death Star, later leading to its destruction.
