ST: Novell awarded $800,000 in piracy suit

Network software giant Novell announced that it has been awarded more than $800,000 in its piracy case against Galactech, a corporation based in Atlanta. Novell brought the lawsuit against Galatech in 1997, alleging that the company distributed and sold counterfeit copies of Novell's NetWare server operating system product. Novell said its antipiracy group examined the counterfeit product and then conducted an audit of Galactech's sales and purchase records to determine damages
