Space.com fills CEO space

Space.com, a Web site featuring multimedia content on space, says it has appointed John Ferrara as president and chief executive. Ferrara replaces former CEO Lou Dobbs, who announced early this month that he is stepping down to return to CNN's "Moneyline News Hour" as an anchor for the show. Space.com said Dobbs will remain chairman of the board of directors. Ferrara, who will also serve on the company's board, joined New York-based Space.com in November 1999 as chief financial officer. In March, he was promoted to president and chief operating officer. Ferrara has also held other executive roles prior to joining Space.com, including executive vice president and CFO for Golden Books Family Entertainment as well as vice president and CFO at Renaissance Communications. Space.com features content, such as news, information, education, entertainment, games, science fiction and a children's channel
