New PSP firmware? With a Web browser? And WPA authentication? Way to go.
It'll be interesting to see how the homebrew scene responds to this development. As I've said before, releasing useful updates is perhaps Sony's most powerful weapon against those who would use the company's leaky v1.5 firmware as an enabler for piracy. Still, some talented coders had been doing some pretty interesting work with the v1.5 exploit, more for the sake of a challenge than to stick it to Sony in some vague way. Will they keep working on v1.5? Will they start looking for exploitable vulnerabilities in v2.0? In either case, as long as Sony continues improving its product to keep pace, its paying customers will come out ahead.
