Sony Ericsson orders up Java

Sony Ericsson, a partnership of Sony and handset maker Ericsson, said Tuesday that it has licensed Sun Microsystems' Java technology to use in phones that the 14-month-old company is making. Java is a software language that enables phones to download ring tones based on Sony artists' songs or screensavers based on Sony movies, according to the company.
