The Sioeye 4G LTE-enabled Iris4G action cam live streams video at the push of a button, but, as you might expect, it requires a mobile data plan (and a MicroSIM) to do it. That's an extra step that the company just eliminated with a T-Mobile partnership.
The $429 camera (approximately AU$580 or £320), which became available in March, will now come with a preinstalled MicroSIM card for use on T-Mobile's network. Users can self-activate the camera and get 5GB of data to get started with that Sioeye says is good for up to 10 hours of live streaming. After that you can get a monthly plan or pay as you go, or just switch to another service provider.
The Android-powered camera streams to Sioeye's cloud service in 480p resolution at 30fps, and lets your friends, family and followers watch live either via a web link or through its mobile app. The Iris4G will also automatically push out a notification to Facebook and Twitter as well as to app users to let them know you're live. Live streaming to YouTube is also in the works.
