Former eBay executive Jeffrey Housenbold has joined online photo service Shutterfly as its president and chief executive officer, the company announced Wednesday. Housenbold succeeds David Bagshaw, who is leaving to pursue other professional interests, a company spokeswoman said.
Housenbold was vice president of business development and Internet marketing at eBay, where he handled customer acquisition and retention. He was earlier involved in the online auction giant's business-to-consumer group as well as mergers and acquisitions. "Jeff Housenbold is a strong leader with a distinguished track record of building consumer-driven online companies," Jim Clark, Shutterfly chairman, said in a statement. "His unique experiences, bold vision and ability to develop strategic relationships are the perfect mix of qualifications to take Shutterfly to its next level."
