Short Take: Wolfson to deliver sound to Xbox

Wolfson Microelectronics will initially provide the audio digital-to-analog converter for Microsoft's Xbox game console, the companies said Monday. As the bridge between the listener and Nvidia's multimedia processor, the Wolfson WM9709 provides the Xbox with sound comparable to that of current CD and DVD players. Wolfson, which is based in England, develops mixed-signal semiconductors for multimedia and communications applications.
